It is being reported that High School Musical 4 is currently under development at Disney despite the fact that the third installment has not even been released yet.
Currently it is not known if the cast from High School Musical 4 will be intact from the third installment, but it has been confirmed that some newly introduced characters in the third musical will be present in the 4th.
“We are writing ‘High School Musical 4,’ ” Disney Channel Worldwide president Rich Ross said.
“Are we going to have all the cast back? Probably not,” Ross said. “Will we have some of them? I hope so.”
Shooting for the 4th musical will begin as soon as the script for the movie is finished, a movie that is reportedly going to be quite different from previous.
“We have learned that just putting a number next to a title is a very old idea,” Ross said. “We have to have a new story.”
High School Musical 3 is scheduled to hit movie screens in the fall of this year.
