Billy Joel’s second live performance at New York’s Shea stadium was made extra special by the presence of none other than Paul McCartney.
The performance, was the last live act to grace the stadium before it closes this fall, and from all accounts, it was a rockin affair.
Fans came out by the thousands to witness Joel, who handed over the mike to Sir Paul after about 3 hours of him performing his own hits.
The two legends performed together to the ear splitting cheers from the more than 55000 fans in attendance.
Joel and McCartney sang the Beatles song “I Saw Her Standing There,” and Paul also sang “Let It Be.”
“It’s so cool to be back here on the last night,” he said. “Been here a long time ago — we had a blast that night, and we’re having another one tonight.”
Other big names in attendance who performed included Garth Brooks and Steven Tyler.
