Court documents that have been unsealed prove that accused anthrax attacks suspect Bruce Ivins, actually knew who the real criminal was.
He wrote himself an email, in which he alleged to know the true identity of the man behind the attacks that were carried out back in 2001.
In the email, Ivins does not say who he believes to be the true anthrax attacker.
He has since committed suicide, as prosecutors moved in to arrest him for the attacks.
Five people were killed and 17 more were seriously injured during the attacks that saw anthrax laced letters mailed to important US offices.
“Yes! Yes! Yes!!!!!!! I finally know who mailed the anthrax letters in the fall of 2001. I’ve pieced it together!” Ivins wrote in the e-mail dated Sept. 7 of last year.
“I’m not looking forward to everybody getting dragged through the mud, but at least it will all be over,” Ivins allegedly wrote. “Finally! I should have it TOTALLY nailed down within the month. I should have been a private eye!!!!”
