Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band have been penciled in as the main performer for this year’s Super Bowl halftime show being held in Tampa Florida.

This is a huge hit for the NFL, who traditionally have stepped up to the plate when it comes to signing acts for the halftime show of the biggest football game of the year.

Springsteen joins acts such as Prince, the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney and U2 to play the Super Bowl halftime show, which was watched last year by more than 148 million people and played by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

The game is slated for February first at Raymond James Stadium, and will feature the champion from the NFC vurses the champion from the AFC.

In last years’ game, the New York Giants shocked the world by defeating the New England Patriots.
