Lynda and Stewart Resnick are donating up to 45 million dollars for the creation of a new exhibition pavilion as part of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
The couple are huge art fans, and Linda has actually sat on the LACMA’s board of trustees in the past.
As well as donating the money for the creation of the new Pavilion, the couple will also be donating art pieces worth 10 million dollars.
The new emaculate building will be of the 1-story variety, built out of glass and travertine, designed by architect Renzo Piano.
Named after the financial donors, the Lynda and Stewart Resnick Exhibition Pavilion, will be opening in 2010.
The pavilion, will probably be home to a wide array of traveling and special exhibitions.
“This is really like a big historic event,” Michael Govan, LACMA’s director and chief executive, said. “This is what LACMA has wanted for a long time.”
