Laura is the name of a sub-tropical storm that is forming in the Atlantic Ocean and is currently centered about 1,015 miles west of Faial island in the Azores.
Currently it is projected that maximum winds are up to 60 miles per hour, with Laura likely to become a hurricane by tomorrow morning.
Americans have become painfully aware of what hurricanes can do, thanks to them being battered by them in certain parts of the country each year.
According to the National Hurricane Center the storm is picking up dangerous speed, moving west-northwest near 8 miles per hour.
Officials are stressing that this storm is not likely to cause danger to any land, but is a big concern to shipping interests in the far north Atlantic.
