Millions of people world wide are using statins, and according to researchers these people are also reeping additional benefits from the drugs.

Statins are used to lower cholesterol, and they have also been proven to reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes.

They are the most popular selling class of drugs in the world.

For the study, researchers analyzed the medical data of more than 29,000 people from Denmark and found that those taking statin drugs were at reduced risk of blood clots, and pneumonia.

They were found to be 31% less likely to develop blood clots or pneumonia, compared to 16% of a reduced risk of patients not taking them.

Their study is published in the Archives of Internal Medicine.
