The Indonesian Health Ministry is reporting that a 32 year old woman from the province of Tangerang, is Indonesia’s 102nd fatality from Bird flu.
The woman died at a hospital in Jakarta this Thursday, and is the 7th person this year from the country to die from the virus.
Initial reports are stating that she contracted the virus after coming into contact with infected poultry, due to there being a number of backyard poultry breeders located where she lived.
Overall, since 2003 on a global scale, more than 230 lives have been lost due to the virus.
