Preliminary results of viewership for touted web-based series “quarterlife” show that it flopped miserably on its NBC debut.
According to Nielsen Media Research, the NBC time slot drew the lowest ratings that they’ve had in the last 20 years, with many believing that the show is not fit for a major network.
The network had considerably high hopes for the made for internet series based on a show on young adults. It was created for the social network site MySpace.com by Marshall Herskovitz and Ed Zwick, Emmy-winning producers of “thirtysomething” and “My So-Called Life.”
According to an NBC spokeswoman, the show will remain on air for now, but if things do not improve, it may not be around for long.
