Leading talkshow host Oprah Winfrey is set to embark on a new reality show that is based on giving to others in an attempt to make their lives better.
The show is based on 10 individuals who could use a leg up themselves, and their ongoing conquests to make the lives of those less fortunate, better via fundraising, corporate sponsorship or just plain love (which in this case is another synonym for cold hard cash).
The show is also a contest between the 10 participants, and the person who does the most for their needy family will walk away with 1 million bucks.
The show is critically viewed by many as a waste of time, exploiting needy families to a national glare, and many are asking if being made to look like a “charity” case is worth the reward that will most undoubtedly follow.
“Oprah’s Big Give” is the name of the show, that according to critics of the famed talk show host, is just another attempt by Opra to assert herself as the kindest person in world history.
Some of the participants include a young dot-com millionaire, a paraplegic in a wheelchair, a train attendant, and a woman who’s just tired of being self-centered. Judges of the show are “Naked Chef” Jamie Oliver, football’s Tony Gonzalez, and Malaak Compton-Rock, Chris Rock’s wife.
