Boston (ChatterShmatter) – According to a new study, as your waist size increases and your belly gets fatter, so does your risk of premature or early death.
Researchers focused on a total of 350,000 people and were led by Prof. Elio Riboli from the Imperial College London.
They found a direct link between the size of your waist and the overall risk of premature death.
Compared to men and women who were not overweight, men who had a waist of more than 47 inches and women who had a waist of more than 39 inches had double the normal risk of early death.
For those who had the widest waist size, the risk of premature death actually doubled.
It also causes them to be far more likely to develop things such as heart disease, cancer, etc.
The study was published in the New England Journal of Medicine.
