Barcelona (ChatterShmatter) – The first real threat to Apple’s iPhone was unveiled this week in the form of Nokia’s N97.
The Nokia multimedia phone was revealed after much anticipation and hype, and is currently being touted as the phone of the year.
The release is receiving rave reviews and appears to have all the fun tools available for mobile devices.
The N97 will support 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, and a 640×360 16:9 touch screen which is 3.5 inches. In addition to the touch screen it will also have a full QWERTY keyboard which will slide out in.
The N97 model will also come equipped with a 5 mega-pixel camera and LED flash which will capture still as well as video images.
The Nokia offering will also support a number of popular mobile applications such as Flash Lite 3.0, the accelerometer and compass.
The current release plans for the N97 is to have it available to the public in the second half of 2009.
