Washington (ChatterShmatter) – The World Health Organization (WHO) has released a new report, revealing that the number of tuberculosis (TB) deaths related to HIV has doubled over the past years.
The last report that was released found that around 1 out of every 8 TB death was related to HIV infection in some way.
This latest report though known as the Global TB Control Report, revealed that 1 out of every 4 TB death is now linked to HIV infection.
This is a scary notion as it is becoming very clear that this duo is as deadly as any disease combination in history.
Another scary notion revealed in this new report was the fact that there were more new TB cases in 2007 than there were in 2006.
The total number of new TB cases has not changed much in 2007 though thankfully as it went from 9.24 million up to 9.27 million from 2006 to 2006.
Health experts are fearful though that this duo of TB and HIV could cause major issues in the future.
