Washington (ChatterShmatter) – Tiger Woods just keeps on falling, and whenever you think he has hit rock bottom, he seems to fall a little farther. The latest example of this is the fact that he has now lost one of his biggest sponsors, Gatorade.
Gatorade has been a huge supporter of Tiger Woods over the years, going as far as to actually sell a drink that had his name on it, but that is no longer the case.
The company has come out on Friday and stated that they are dropping their relationship with Tiger Woods.
The statement read, “We no longer see a role for Tiger in our marketing efforts and have ended our relationship. We wish him all the best.”
Gatorade is a subsidiary of the larger PepsiCo Inc., and is the latest major sponsor to drop the golf legend.
Others who have already dropped Tiger Woods include AT&T, as well as Accenture, both major supporters of Woods over the years.
There are still a few other major sponsors who are standing by Woods, including Nike as well as Electronic Arts, makers of the popular Tiger Woods video game.
There is no word if something pushed Gatorade over the edge to drop the sponsorship.
It is interesting though that they waited until now to do it, right when Tiger was seemingly starting to make a comeback.
