Titans offensive coordinator diagnosed with cancer
It is being reported that Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger has been diagnosed with cancer. He had been sick for quite some time, and coach Jeff Fisher announced to the team on Wednesday that he will be starting chemotherapy treatments immediately.
“Mike is going to be, potentially as early as today, undergoing chemotherapy for cancer treatment,” Fisher said. “I don’t know … whether or not he’ll be able to participate in coaching this game. I want you all to pray for Mike, like we have been doing all morning.”
“What he’s done over the last couple of weeks considering how he felt is absolutely remarkable,” Fisher said of Heimerdinger. “Mike is very sick.” As for the type of cancer Mike was diagnosed with: “I don’t want to go into detail,” Fisher said. “I think we owe it to allow Mike to enjoy the privacy with his family.”
