Black Friday may have come and gone and now consumers are setting their sites on Cyber Monday.
This is the one day when online retailers slash their prices, only days after reducing prices in their physical stores across the country.
The term Cyber Monday was coined five years ago and refers to the day when Americans return to work after Thanksgiving, and turn to the internet to purchase gifts for loved ones.
All of the big players have Cyber Monday deals including Amazon.com, Disneystore.com, BestBuy.com, Walmart.com and even Staples.com.
“There’s demand out there, but you have consumers spending their time differently,” said John Thompson, senior vice president and general manager of BestBuy.com. “If you don’t have one group that shops early, you’ll have those who say ‘I’ll enjoy my Thanksgiving and those same deals or as-good deals will be there Cyber Monday.’”
