A health clinic that serves actors in the porn industry has been ordered shut by the Los Angeles County Department
of Public Health.
The Adult Industry Medical Healthcare Foundation (AIM) apparently did not have a license to operate as a medical clinic, and was recently blasted by a porn actor who says that it did not help him when he needed help.
“By state law, all facilities that provide medical services are regulated by the state to ensure that they meet appropriate standards to provide medical care,” local health officials said in a statement.
“AIM does not have a license to operate a medical clinic. Today’s cease-and-desist order means that AIM must stop providing medical services until it has obtained the appropriate license from the state.”
Earlier this week a male porn actor spoke out against the clinic, after he tested positive for the HIV virus.
Derrick Burts, 24, says that the clinic left him for more than two months without treatment, and that those in the position to do so, need to make sure that porn actors are protected properly.
“People who are behind the industry, the big shots, they need to come up with a system that works, that protects their performers,” he stated.
