(ChatterShmatter) – Results of a new study out of the University of Western Australia indicate that baby boys who are breastfed are more likely to excel in math and reading than their peers who are raised on a bottle.
Breastfeeding has been linked to numerous healthy advantages in life for children, ranging from decreased risk of certain autoimmune diseases, to an increased level of intelligence, thus it is no surprise that boys appear to excel in school when breastfed.
The study featured 2,900 women and 2,868 children, with the researchers comparing the length of time the kids were breastfed as babies with test scores in math, reading, writing, and spelling.
Children breastfed for more than six months, on average had higher test scores than those kids breastfed for less than six months.
