R&B singer Tina Marie has died at the age of 54. Marie will be remembered for making history as Motown’s first white act and for putting out big time hits including “I’m A Sucker for Your Love,” “Lovergirl,” “Square Biz,” and “Fire and Desire.”
Marie was found dead inside her home in Pasadena on Sunday, according to Police Lt. Diego Torres. The initial cause of death is unknown but it is believed that Marie suffered a major seizure. Upon news of her death, singer Mary J. Blige tweeted Marie, “inspired me vocally as a child. Her songs I sang in the mirror with a hair brush. I’m so hurt. Rest in peace Teena Mari. My Love love for u is forever.”
