Actor Sean Penn says that his divorce from wife Robin Wright cost him half of all he has. Penn, who is currently in Haiti helping in the recovery process following the massive earthquake last year is working voluntarily but may need to start acting soon to make ends meat.
The pair tied the knot in 1996 and have two kids together, and after some breakups and get back togethers, they ended their marriage in 2009. As for why he has remained in Haiti for as long as he has, the actor says: “When I first came to Haiti, the decision was to go for two weeks.” He adds: “There’s a great thing Paul Newman said about his long marriage: ‘As it turns out, we still love each other.’ That’s how I feel: ‘As it turns out, I’m still here.’”
