A runner from Brazil is the proud winner of the Disney Marathon ran early this morning. Fredison Carniero crossed the line in the winning time of 2 hours, 21 minutes, bringing an end to the winning streak of Adriano Bastos, a seven-time winner, who placed 15th.
Leah Thorvilson of Little Rock won the womens race in the time of 2 hours, 42 minutes and 10 seconds, ahead of Karen Simmonds-Brady who crossed the line in 2 hours 51 minutes and 14 seconds. More than 53,000 participants travelled to Central Florida to participate in the half marathon which was ran yesterday and the full marathon which was run this morning.
