Kenneth Cole is one very sorry man after he made a Tweet concerning the goings-on in Egypt that has drawn a lot of criticism. The shoe designer took to his Twitter account yesterday to joke about the mass protesting that is currently going on, that has resulted in the death of numerous Egyptians.
He tweeted: “Millions are in uproar in Cairo. Rumour is they heard our new spring collection is now available online …”, and then he posted a link to the fashion collection’s website. He has since taken to Facebook to apologize, writing: “In hindsight my attempt at humour regarding a nation liberating themselves against oppression was poorly timed and absolutely inappropriate. Important moments like this are a time to reflect. To remind us, sometimes, that it’s not only important what you wear, but it’s also important to be aware.”
