NBA player Ray Allen has been nailing three-point baskets for more than 25 years and last night became the all time leader in that category. In a losing effort against the Los Angeles Lakers, the Boston Celtics point guard made his record 2,561st three point shot.
After making the final three, the crowd stood and gave him a thunderous round of applause, very appreciative of his lengthy career and what he has achieved. “I knew I only needed two threes, but on any other day or any other game, it would have happened just like that,” said Allen. “That second three was almost slow-motion for me … I was like, ‘this is it.’ It was definitely a magical moment.”
