All is not well with St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Adam Wainwright as he is believed to have a severe ligament injury in his elbow. Early indications are that the allstar pitcher will need to undergo Tommy John surgery thus he will likely miss the entire season.
This news is horrific for the Cardinals especially when you taken into account that their ace was hurt before the season even started. Last year, Adam was 20-11 with a 2.42 ERA and finished second in the Cy Young Award voting. “There’s a problem with the ligament,” said Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak. ” We have sent Adam to St. Louis for a further diagnosis. But it doesn’t look good.”
