It is being reported that the debut is near for a new 6 part series, documenting the medical goings-on at the famous Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.
“Hopkins” is the name of the ABC documentary that chronicals the life of doctors and surgeons working at the facility, airing tonight on the network.
The documentary is a sequel to the 2000 ABC “Hopkins 24/7″ version, and will allow for reality TV to be on display as we are subjected to graphical medical content, never seen before on the tube.
“If you put on a show where real human beings are fighting for their lives, the hope is that the authenticity will come through and distinguish the show from what is called reality television,” said executive producer Terence Wrong.
Doctors were not overly keen at first to have camera crews in and around, video taping their every move. “I was flat-out scared,” said Dr. Alfredo Quinones-Hinojosa, a brain surgeon. “I was scared for my patients. I was scared for my family. I was scared for myself.”
After 4 months of filming and thousands upon thousands of hours of filming, Quinones-Hinojosa stated that he forgot the cameras were even there.
Ironically, tonights episode features Quinones-Hinojosa as one of the main characters.
