Boston (ChatterShmatter) – On Monday night those who looked up into the night sky were treated to quite a sight as Venus, Jupiter and the Moon were on display.
Over the past few weeks the two planets Jupiter and Venus have been moving closer and closer together. Last night the planets and crescent moon appeared to all be within a few miles of each other.
While Jupiter and Venus are larger the moon shown the brightest in the night sky. The moon is only 252,000 miles from Earth while Venus is 94 million miles away and Jupiter is 540 million miles.
According to experts the next time the planets and moon will align in this fashion will be during the week of November 18, 2052.
